Teacher: Dave Unkefer
Teacher Dave is an MSU Education Graduate who served with Pastor Dave (Friendship House Vice President) on a local charitable community organization that brought him first to Martin Luther Chapel and then to the Friendship House since 1998 as a teacher and mentor.
Dave stays active by enjoying many outdoor sporting activities as well as staying fit through yoga and spending time with family and friends.
Class Title & Description: US News & English Conversation :
In today’s ever changing political world, whether it be global, national, state wide or local there always seems to be some worthy topics for discussion. Each week we will pick one of these to read and then dig in a little deeper to look at the pro’s and con’s of the topic at hand.
Materials used for the class will be a variety of the following:
- Local, National, and global publications ranging from the City Pulse, Lansing State Journal, one of two Detroit Metro Papers, to the New York Times! Even an occasional article dealing with geoglobal issues or sports related ones.
- Once/Twice a month a selection from “The Topic Envelope”
- A monthly random assortment of descriptive objects
- Once every other week spending 30 minutes learning English Idioms
Time: Thursday at 6:00 -7:30 PM
In-person only. This class meets in the Fireside Room or at the front of the 1st floor at the round table by the window at Martin Luther Chapel (444 Abbot Road, East Lansing, Michigan 48823).
