Teacher Gary worked for the Michigan Legislature as an economist and legislative assistant from 1984 to 2011. His expertise was in parliamentary procedure, which explains why he didn’t work in the private sector. His outside interests include refereeing soccer (retired) and listening to Bruce Sprinsteen songs (never retiring).
