Teacher Jan’s first field trip of the summer will be to Frankenmuth, Michigan. It is rated one of Michigan’s favorite family tourist sites and is often referred to as “Little Bavaria” (Germany).

When: Monday, June 14
Time: We will begin our journey at 9:30 A.M. It is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes from East Lansing.

Who: Friendship House registered students and their families are invited. Please click here to sign up for the field trip.

Cost: There are no admission costs at the sites we will visit, but you will be asked to pay for your own lunch and transportation expenses.

Description:
We will visit the largest Christmas store in the world, learn about the history of this German town, enjoy a picnic lunch eating some of their world-famous chicken, shop at some of their unique stores downtown, visit a local dairy farm, and learn the art of making German-style pretzels.
Due to the pandemic, we will not provide bus transportation. We will travel via personal vehicles. If you can drive and have extra room in your vehicle, please let us know so we can arrange for car-pooling for those who cannot drive themselves. Children are welcome to join us on this trip.
