Dear Friendship House MSU Community,
More than a year has passed since the pandemic closed our doors here at the Friendship House to in-person learning and gatherings. We have pivoted to virtual interactions and experienced a silver lining of connecting with even more individuals, new and old to our ministry, from around the world.
As we plan and prepare for in-person gatherings here in the house (along with continuing our virtual presence), we continue to follow MSU’s policies and actions, as well as heeding our state and CDC guidelines. We hope all the additional work we are doing today will enable us to open again for in-person gatherings for the fall semester.
We sit here today in the midst of spring — and in the midst of yet another COVID surge. We are weary of renewed restrictions yet are hopeful for the future with COVID vaccines now available for everyone 16 and older here in Michigan.
I encourage everyone to continue in being diligent in your approach to this pandemic. Please wear a mask, maintain social distancing, limit the numbers of people gathering outside of your household, especially indoors, and please get vaccinated.
I look forward to the day when we can all gather together again in groups large and small, for classes or purely social events. Until then, please continue to take all the necessary steps to keep yourself and others safe so that day comes sooner than later!
God’s Blessings to you all,
Dan Winter
