ESL: First Steps in English – Level 2

Teacher: Laura Bowman
Description:
Teacher Laura holds a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and is an adjunct instructor of the Visiting International Professional Program.

Do you want to improve your English skills? This class builds on Level 1 and is for
students who have a very basic level of English but who still struggle to communicate
with native speakers. We will practice listening, reading, speaking, and writing skills.
There will also be lessons on conversation and American culture. We will use a
textbook and workbook to learn and practice the lessons. The class will include time for
students to ask questions about real-life language and culture that they encounter in
their everyday activities. Students will have many opportunities to practice speaking
and listening in English during the class in fun and engaging ways.
