Understanding Phrasal Verbs

Teacher Tim has a Master’s degree in English and taught in the writing programs at Lansing Community College for over 30 years. He has taught English at Friendship House for several years.

In this 4-week class, we will work on phrasal verbs, a specific form of idiom used all the time in American speech, and much writing, too. Phrasal verbs can be confusing, but we will learn their patterns, understand how and when they are used, and hear how they sound in spoken English sentences. This course will help you to develop your ability to understand spoken English, as well as your ability to speak ordinary, everyday English.
