A Short Course in Casual American English

Teacher Tim has a Master’s degree in English and taught in the writing programs at Lansing Community College for over 30 years. He has taught English at Friendship House for several years.

In this four-week course, we will continue to explore American spoken language, which is filled with informal, and sometimes confounding, words and phrases.  We will identify what these words and phrases mean, discuss situations for using them, and hear how they sound when spoken.  Through our practice, you will be able to increase your speaking and listening vocabularies, and you’ll learn some interesting and useful expressions.  We will learn a lot, and we will have fun!
