2026 Spring Semester Closing Information

Friendship House MSU Community:

As we wrap up the 2026 Spring semester of classes, I want to share some thanks, and make a few announcements regarding upcoming events and dates.

First, a big THANK YOU to all of our teachers for their time and dedication to our ministry and their students. We began the semester in January and whether teaching from home or still coming to the house, our teachers put in the extra time and effort to prepare a curriculum for each class. The result of our teachers’ extra efforts was obvious during each class session.

Second, another big THANK YOU to you, our community of students both near and far, who continue to join us from near and far to improve the quality of your lives for yourselves and those around you.

As we take a brief break between semesters…The summer semester at the Friendship House begins on Monday, May 11th…to prepare for another slate of hybrid (virtual and in-person) classes, we invite new, returning, and ESL international students who have registered to come by the house for orientation on our summer semester protocols and to meet the staff.

As we look forward to the summer semester, in addition to our classes, please expect more outdoor opportunities, such as:

  • Group Activities: We are planning to have as many group activities this summer, such as a group event at an art festival, a visit to the Henry Ford Museum, and a Mary Lou Garden trip.
  • Potter Park Zoo: We continue to offer free passes to our local zoo for members of our community to check out from the Friendship House office.

We are excited for the upcoming semester of classes and activities but want to take a moment to give thanks for this past semester of learning and laughter! God’s Blessings to you and your families!
